Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS)

Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) is a national award and Equator Prize winning community-based non-profit, non-government and development organization committed to maintaining ecological balance and harmony between humans and nature to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. With its Green Accountability grant, BEDS will build institutional capacity of the self-help groups and strengthen partnership of the local governments and grassroots organizations to develop and implement over 100 locally led climate action plans across Bangladesh through multistakeholder engagement.

Dataful

Dataful is the first open data organisation in Bangladesh working to offer inclusive and equitable data through a web application. With its grant, Dataful will seek to enhance the accessibility of climate data by developing a user-friendly platform in Bangla and English for civil society, communities, policymakers and journalists. The project aims to support evidence-based decision-making by enabling data-driven, targeted adaptation strategies that help civil society organizations with their advocacy using data visualizations.

Participatory Research & Action Network (PRAAN)

Participatory Research & Action Network (PRAAN) is a non-profit, non-government organization in Bangladesh working to promote human rights, economic-ecological justice, responsive governance, climate resilience, just transition and rural livelihoods. With its Green Accountability grant, PRAAN will build the capacity of two local government Institutions and of the citizens in coastal Bangladesh to transform and implement public budgets and plans that are climate-resilient and locally led.

WaterAid

WaterAid has operated in Bangladesh since 1986 delivering water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) expertise to local contexts. They work from the grassroots to national level and play a leading role in ensuring that national adaptation plans and climate finance address WASH for the communities. With its Green Accountability grant, WaterAid will create a platform to make WASH climate finance more accessible and accountable by facilitating dialogue among stakeholders across three climate zones in Bangladesh.

WAVE Foundation

Founded in 1990, the WAVE Foundation is a civil society organization in Bangladesh working to improve the socio-economic development of the poor and marginalized and promote human rights and good governance. With its Green Accountability grant, WAVE Foundation will seek to strengthen climate governance by enhancing civil society participation, community awareness, capacity development of disaster management committees (DMC) of local government, while promoting the role of media and better mutistakeholder coordination.
